If sleep is not being met, you can suffer from the sleep disorder Insomnia (insomnia). If this insomnia lasts for more than a few nights, the condition can become chronic. The constant lack of sleep can then have a negative effect on functioning during the day and even when you sleep.

You can develop health problems that can even lead to dropout and other negative experiences. Currently, about one in three people have insomnia; and the number of cases is growing day by day.

Sleeplessness can be described in 4 different forms.

Insomnia

Partial sleep disorder

Sleep lightly

Sleep anxiety

Nowadays you can also think of non-sleepers when you think of sleeplessness. Sleepers who easily spend a night without sleeping through gaming or working. You can also think of Stress Sleeping Learn to anchor yourself Daydreaming fear Dream anxiety really exists!

In addition, you can also think of ADHD, Hypersensitivity and other forms because this form is also often accompanied by sleeping problems and especially insomnia. This is because there are too many stimuli and / or too much energy. As a result, people are unable to enter non-REM sleep and / or experience a lot of problems with this, so that sleep cannot come about.

This group, together with the (Non) sleepers, is growing by the day.

People with ADHD and hypersensitivity often benefit from sleep support and / or meditation so that they can still sleep. It is of course very wise to consult your doctor or specialist if you think you have ADHD and related conditions.

You sleep for a number of reasons, tidying up, sorting and processing what you've been through during the day - your brain has to tidy up and give everything a place. If your brain doesn't do that, you get overheated, as it were. You can no longer function, think, react, act and so on .... Due to too little sleep you also have a greater chance of Burn-out, overworkedness and depression.

You can also think of chronic conditions that develop or worsen.
In addition, your body also needs rest, your heart just keeps pumping while you sleep, but that does not mean that the other muscles, organs, etc. in your body should not rest or relax.

An adult needs 8 hours of sleep and people with hypersensitivity, higher vibration, migraines often even more, so think about yourself and go to bed at the right time to avoid many obstacles.

Narcolepsy

Narcolepsy is a chronic sleep disorder about which not much is known.

Narcolepsy is a disease that causes uncontrolled sleep attacks. You fall asleep uncontrollably and in addition regular loss of consciousness and muscle relaxation. In addition, the dreams are very vivid and emotional. The sleep attack usually lasts a maximum of half an hour and you can therefore no longer speak but you remain clear and breathe through people with narcolepsy do not start with non REM sleep but start with REM sleep and that is why it is so very intense. It is of course very wise to consult your doctor or specialist if you think you have Narcolepsy.

Sleepwalking (Parasomnia)

It happens a lot. and then you can think of about 15 percent of the children suffer from sleep walking and / or have walked during sleep. Boys sleepwalking more often than girls During deep sleep, no or hardly any movements occur, because the motor part of the brain normally does not ensure that signals go to the muscles via the spinal cord. If this happens, it results in sleepwalking. It is therefore only natural that sleepwalking takes place at the beginning of the night.

Sleepwalking therefore happens in a semi-conscious state, so you are aware of your body in this state, but you dream the environment in which you find yourself. Usually your eyes are open when you sleepwalk, you just talk and do whatever you would in your waking life. Often you can not remember it, or it comes back in gusts when you wake up again.

Sleepwalking is hereditary; if your parents are sleepwalking, chances are you have this yourself and / or have done it once.

Dreams and Visions and sleepwalking have nothing to do with each other, they do not affect or are unrelated to each other. It does happen that you sleepwalking during your dreams and then you can get the most weird and sometimes funny situations such as wanting to go to work or sitting on the toilet etc .... If you really suffer from sleepwalking it is wise to consult a doctor or specialist

Another form of Parasomnia is of course talking, mumbling in your sleep and many people do that without even knowing it.

Bruxism or teeth grinding

As it were, you grind your teeth while you sleep. There is constant tension on your teeth during your sleep, causing a kind of grinding of teeth because the teeth are forcibly rubbed together.

This movement can be felt and experienced throughout the body, with all its consequences.

The consequences of this can be quite serious, such as overloading the temporomandibular joint, ear pain, headaches, nervous disorders and so on. It is of course very wise to consult your doctor or specialist if you think you have Bruxism.

RLS or Restless legs Syndrome

It is estimated that about five in ten percent of the adult population suffers from this neurological disorder.

If you have RLS, you will have an uncomfortable feeling in your legs. Usually this is in the calves forcing you to move your legs. Moving the legs dispels the unpleasant feeling.

But if you stop moving, the feeling can return. The irritation in the legs mainly occurs during rest and especially when you sleep. If you are sleep deprived, this worsens and you are very tired during the day. But if you really suffer from RLS, it is wise to consult your doctor or specialist.

PLMD or Periodic Limb movement disorder

PLMD is a related condition of RLS in which you move not only your legs but also your arms and sometimes even your whole body. You move your body up to 100 times an hour, which seriously disrupts sleep. Almost every movement you wake up once, so you do not rest and do not get deep enough to sleep. You stay in Non-REM sleep, as it were, so that you cannot function fully during the day and / or are always tired.

Many people suffer from PLMD but are not aware of it - often it is also a combination between RLS and PLMD. There are treatments possible and it also happens that there may be vitamin B12 too short; but if you really suffer from PLMD it is wise to consult your doctor or specialist.

Sleep Apnea

This condition is less known, but snoring sleep can lead to sleep apnea. People who snore usually have a narrowing in the transition from the nose to the pharynx or in the area behind the tongue. This narrowing creates an underpressure in the throat when inhaling.

This causes the uvula, tongue and the walls of the pharynx to be sucked towards each other, causing this to vibrate and it is precisely this sound that is snoring. Sleep Apnea is a pause in breathing because your uvula, tongue and walls in the pharynx block everything and, as it were, your breathing stops and you wake up gasping for breathing.

If this occurs frequently, you will have Sleep Apnea with all the consequences of deep fatigue and falling asleep during the day, but you can also think of concentration problems, no longer being able to drive, etc. There are now a number of options for dealing with sleep apnea through operations. , oxygen and sleep support

Sleep paralysis or trauma / fear blockages

It is an awareness of the fact that you feel like you are losing control over your body, your dreams and / or your sleep. During a sleep paralysis it may even be the case that you no longer feel your whole body, as it were. Often you can still move your eyes and / or a little bit your head, mouth, ears. Maybe a finger, but you don't often get further than that. You see, as it were, everything playing before your eyes and you no longer have any influence on it. It is often described as a mini coma or a soul block, physical out-of-body experience that makes you no longer present. Your energy flow blocks so that you as a soul kind of stiffened. You can also experience it when you have to step back and sink back into your body.
